Costume Collections: A Collaborative Model for Museums

Gillion Carrara was invited to speak at a two-day symposium beginning May 21, 2010, that celebrates and illuminates the historic collection-sharing collaboration between the Brooklyn Museum and The Costume Institute at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

On Thursday, June 18, 2009, Gillion Carrara was one of four artists who joined Vogue magazine for an event to benefit of the Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Center. Special hosts were Whitney Lasky and Tara Koch. Guests were invited to shop the season’s most inspiring choices in fashion and accessories.

Designer Mathew Ames selected work by Chicago Metalsmith Gillion Carrara for his New York Fashion Week runway show – Gravity’s Rainbow – Sunday 15 February – on the runway with earrings and cuffs in lead crystal and silver will compliment the fall/winter 2009 collection at Fashionhaus at 3:00pm.
